The Art from the Heart
Elizabeth Davis is an Indian artist who has recently come to the fore in the Oman Art scene.
She is a member of the Omani Society of Fine Arts & Rangrez, the Art wing of the Indian Social Club, Muscat. From having a fantastic Art dept in school, she has done various courses with famous international artists along the way to hone her skills and reach where she is. She has a certificate in Drawing from the Art Academy, London and in Creative Imagination from the National Museum of Oman.
Elizabeth works mostly with Acrylics and in an Impressionist style. She is forever exploring and experimenting and does not want to be tied down to any particular medium or style. She is also very keen to promote art and bring it to the common people and inculcate the joy of painting in children. Recycling, re-using and upcycling are dear to her.
In 2021, she was a winner at the Masterpiece Oman competition organized by the Anglo Omani Society, UK. “Kiki goes to Corniche”, an impressive hand-crafted sketchbook created by Elizabeth is now a part of the special collection in the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, Dubai! She has also been approached by them to do a similar sketchbook called “Kiki goes to Dubai Creek”.
Having lived in Muscat for almost 30 years, Elizabeth’s work reflects her love for this amazing country, its awe-inspiring landscape and the warm and friendly people. But she has not forgotten her roots and travel frequently to Kochi, India.
Elizabeth has taken part in various events in Oman, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and India. Her work is part of private collections.
